MORDYS GREEN PROJECT "ONE BOARD = ONE TREE"
The environment provides us with a canvas for surfing, skateboarding & snowboarding alike; therefore its presevation is critical to the roots of this shop.
The Mordys Green Project is an initiative which aims to help protect, conserve and improve our natural environment. Mordys is committed to continually engaging in practices, wherever possible, to help minimise our impact on the enviroment. We believe there is no reason why we can't step up and operate in a manner which exceeds the environmental standards of many large corporations.
We currently buy eco-friendly amenities, recycle wherever we can and order as many eco-friendly products as possible, including recycled boardshorts and outerwear.
As of december 2009 the "Buy Me and Plant a Tree" 1 board = 1 tree project was established as our green resolution. For each surfboard, skateboard and snowboard sold , we donate one tree to be planted in reforestation areas. The planting is done through "People and Parks Foundation".
It is not a definative solution to the overwhelming environmental issues we are currently facing by any means but it is a step in the right direction.
